Congratulations on your decision to pursue a self-study claims law designation with American Educational Institute (AEI).

AEI is the premier provider of self-study programs in insurance claims law. Courses are practical, flexible, interactive, and lead to industry-recognized designations including AEI’s highest designation, the Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA). Courses are approved for continuing education credit toward adjuster license renewal in many states and for college credit by the National College Credit Recommendation Service.

Program Offerings: 

AEI’s foundation program, Legal Principles, covers the basic areas of law all claims professionals need to understand. AEI offers additional programs in specific areas of insurance law.  AEI Programs include:

Professional designations are earned upon successful completion of each program and are continually earned while completing programs in pursuit of AEI’s highest designation, the Senior Claim Law Associate. The following designations can be attained by completing various AEI courses and programs:

  • Specialist - Individual AEI program
  • Associate - Legal Principles + any AEI program
  • Senior Claim Law Associate - Legal Principles + three AEI programs
  • SCLA Silver & Gold Awards - Having achieved the SCLA, a student who completes a fifth claims law Program qualifies for the SCLA Silver Award and a student who completes a sixth claims law Program qualifies for the SCLA Gold Award. Click here for more information.
